Tommy Ton, from the fashion blog Jak and Jil, is my hero. He's about 26 years old, from Toronto and he takes the most exquisite photos - I could stare at them for hours (and I wish I could take them myself). His pictures capture the spirit of the moment so precisely that you can literally smell that Parisian air... Okay, he's not always in Paris, he also spends time in New York and Milan, but Paris is where he snaps the most shoes! Tommy is obsessed with beautiful shoes and is known to stalk his "prey" to get the perfect shot. Check out the Jak and Jil blog. Love you Tommy!

Lace-up stiletto boots.

Balenciaga heels (love the blue nail polish peeking through).

Marc Jacobs heart pumps.

Prada platforms. Look impossible to walk in but impossibly beautiful.

A stylish mummy and daughter with must-have Parisian accessory: cute, small dog

Meet Taryn... one of the fabulous fashion interns at ELLE magazine SA. Doesn't she look amazing?

model moment

I was driving around town the other day and saw these two girls walking down a side road, so I quickly pulled into the road, jumped out the car and asked them if I could take their picture. How amazing are they? And yes, they're models... But looking at those ridiculous legs, I'm not surprised.

I've been following Alix's blog, The Cherry Blossom Girl, for a while now, and she never fails to inspire me. Alix is a French fashion designer/blogger/photographer who lives in Paris and is obsessed with all things fashion. Her style is never over the top, it's perfectly chic – she is Parisian after all. She loves Chloe, Chanel, Miu Miu but also Topshop, H&M and Zara. The Cherry Blossom Girl is one of the most beautiful and inspiring blogs I've ever come across. I would die for her wardrobe!
(on a side note, I heard a rumour that Zara is coming to South Africa next year?!)

 H&M dress, Chloe pumps

Topshop skirt and jacket (I love the contrast of the bright red polish on the crisp white skirt)

Stella McCartney for Gap Kids jacket, Zara dress, vintage boots

Massimo Dutti jersey, H&M dress, Topshop boots, Chanel bag

Supertrash jacket, H&M dress, Mulberry Bayswater bag

Vintage pants, American Apparel t-shirt
Grey Ant sunnies, Queen's Wardrobe top, Siwy jeans, Chanel bag, Givenchy heels

fabulous finds for a friday

It's Friday, so I'm breaking the "rules" for my blog. Yes, I usually post pictures of people in beautiful outfits, but today I'm in the mood for something different. I'm always looking for cool, new blogs and inspiring fashion sites, but every now and then I land up looking at stuff for kids (cos I have one of my own now!) So today I happened upon Smallable - a French fashion and design concept store exclusively for kids. Sometimes when I find a site that excites me this much, I almost don't know where to begin. But I eventually composed myself and discovered a whack of beautiful things. You want to know the best part? We actually bought the Casa Cabana white cardboard house for our bubs from Kiids Boutique in Chelsea Village a few months ago. So in the spirit of all things Friday, I made my own mood board. Don't laugh, it's my first attempt and I don't know how to deep etch so there are hard corners and I can't do anything about that. But I think it's still pretty? And seriously, how cute are these things for kids?

When I snapped this girl, I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't get to properly examine her outfit until now. I was drawn to her overall look but upon closer inspection I love the super cool necklace, cat eye sunnies, cropped tuxedo jacket, bright nail polish, studded pumps. Divine.
